The Silent Crisis of Limited Civics Education
Only about 1 in 5 U.S. eighth graders test proficient in civics, and roughly a third don't even reach the basic benchmark on the national civics assessment. These gaps track closely with under-resourced districts, meaning the students with the least access to power are also the ones least equipped to navigate it.
Plenty of organizations talk about "bridging the civics gap." Fewer stop to ask why it exists in specific places, for specific students. We do. We diagnose where civic education breaks down: outdated curricula, under-trained teachers, one-size-fits-all lesson plans that don't reflect students' communities. We build programs that actually fit the gaps we find, starting with the communities most overlooked by the system.

Empower the Next Generation
Your contribution ensures that every student, regardless of background, receives the civic education they need to lead with informed participation and democratic integrity.
